Vivian Horan Fine Art: Art Chicago Promotion

Our Art Forum ad announced Vivian Horn's participation in the Expo by featuring an early work by arte povera artist, Jannis Kounellis, DRC, and is a rare integration of graphic design and a work of art.

Born in 1936 in Piraeus, Greece, Jannis Kounellis moved to Rome in 1956 and enrolled in the Accademia di Belle Arti. While still a student, he had his first solo show, titled L'alfabeto di Kounellis, at the Galleria la Tartaruga, Rome, in 1960. The artist exhibited black-and-white canvases that demonstrated little painterliness; on their surfaces, the artist stenciled letters and numbers.
